ReviewsJust Adventure Review (November 3, 2005)
"Adventures in Odyssey and the Treasure of the Incas and Adventures in Odyssey and the Sword of the Spirit exhibit excellent animation, engaging characters, intriguing plots, ingenious logic puzzles and interactive bells and whistles."
"If you're looking for a safe and fun alternative to the violence and brainless activity in many other games, the "Adventures in Odyssey" titles are a smart choice."
"The games bill themselves as rewarding players for making good choices. And the games themselves are good choices if you have children 8 to about 13 years old, although I found them charming and captivating, too."
"I'm really not into religion. Nothing of the organized variety, anyway. But I'll tell you what: I thoroughly enjoyed playing these games."
"I liked the game because it wasn't violent and it worked with their critical thinking. It's good when they work in pairs and can figure out the clues proposed in the games. I would recommend this game for classroom use."
"In Digital Praise games, gamers won't find the violence, cursing, sexuality and demonic themes that plague so many secular games. Yet, if you are looking for games to shove biblical principles or family values down a gamer's throat, these aren't the games for you either."
"I was impressed by the quality and sound of this game. Unfortunately, most faith based games don't always carry a good reputation for quality and fun-ability (is there such a word?!?), but this was a pleasant surprise!"
"The 16-year-old girl enjoyed Odyssey, and wanted to pursue each game to its finish. She enjoyed the challenge of solving the puzzles."
"What's a parent to do when many computer games today contain blood and guts, sex, crime or bad language all available to ones children? One exception is a computer game series based on the highly successful Focus on the Family radio program, Adventures in Odyssey."
"A reviewer at www.justadventure.com said he was curious whether games having a basis in Christianity might preach at you, clobber you with the Bible or be overzealous in some other way. ... I was very pleasantly surprised. The reviewer, who isn't into organized religion, said he thoroughly enjoyed playing these games. Neither gets in your face with fire and brimstone or heavy-handed dogma ... Quite the contrary, in fact. Both games have engaging stories done in a refreshingly gentle tone. And on top of that, they're just plain entertaining."
"The games are fun and entertaining, but I didn't find them much different from the challenges in most computer games for this age group. Unlike some games, they are nonviolent and nonsexist, virtues I appreciate." Support
